Mark Almquist of Handy Road, an eight year veteran of the BMRDSC has resigned from the Committee effective April 4, 2008.

It is unclear if this position will be on the ballot for the spring elections, or if a joint session between the Blackstone BOS and the remaining 3 Blackstone members of the BMRDSC will need to be held to appoint his successor until the spring 2009 elections.

Lynn Landry of Rivers Edge Road term expires at this years District election, along with Joanne Forbes, (Millville Representative) No word has been received regarding their intentions.

Note that members are elected to the School Committee in a District Election, where the candidates names appear on ballots in both Blackstone and Millville.  Equal number of representatives are elected from each town (4 members each). The District election format, established as part of the K-12 regionalization format in 1982, assures that while membership is equal between the two towns, both towns have a vote on their representatives to the Regional School District.
