Election Races shape up

It looks to be an interesting local election season with several contests shaping up.

For the 2 three year slots on the Board of Selectmen, Incumbents Perreault and Dubois are facing challengers Jackie Miner, and John Wozniak.

For the 1 year unexpired term that opened  up when Kramer resigned, it looks like Tom Bik vs. Charlie Sawyer.

Likewise, there is a contest for Parks and Rec, as well as the two unexpired BMR School Committee seat.   While Incumbent Lynn Landry faces no opposition in the 4 year race,  Dan Doyle, Diane Robin and Mike Buckley have returned papers for the 3 year race.  In fact, Buckley has also returned papers for the 2 year race as well.  He will have to withdraw one set by early March, to state his intention.

The other two in the race for the two year seat are political newcomers Peter Olson of Goddard Street, and Katherine Friend of Ascension Street.

All in all, should be a fun season!

New Election, Same Players

Good luck to all of the new blood comming into the ring here in Blackstone. Hope they can handle the mud slinging, name calling, and all the other nonsense that is thrown thier way by the current sitting persons. The names of Buckley and Miner ought to keep the race in good laughter. Buckley with his dont ask, let me go ways and Miner who just makes no sense no matter what she is saying.
Connie and Bob watch out there is some new blood running and dont forget what happened to Charlie last time, you might be next.
